Luke Walton will likely interview for the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job following the completion of the first round. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Wednesday night that Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak had called his Warriors couterpart Bob Myers asking for permission to speak to Walton. Walton said that while he he hasn't talked to anyone about a job, he felt he "would almost have to" interview after the first round, because most of the jobs will be filled by the end of the playoffs. Walton, who maintains an offseason home in Manhattan Beach, won two NBA championships with the Lakers. Though Walton's name will be in play for other jobs, the Lakers seem like the most logical destination if Walton chooses to leave the Warriors.
