Stephen Curry’s shoes raise $45,201 for Oakland Fire Relief fund
Curry donned the pair — which featured "Oakland" on one shoe and "Strong" on the other in graffiti-style writing, Curry's autograph and the initials of every victim of the recent Oakland warehouse fire —when he scored eight points on 3-of-14 shooting in the Warriors' Dec. 15 win over the Knicks. The $45,201 raised from the two pairs will go to the Oakland Fire Relief fund, which supports those affected by the fire earlier this month at the Ghostship warehouse that killed 36 people. According to ESPN, Curry's sale Friday eclipsed the amount paid for a 2005 pair of LeBron James' shoes ($28,651, sold last December) for the record for a pair of shoes bought of a currently active NBA player.
