With the Warriors Kevin Durant out for Game 2 of the playoffs, one would expect the team's original MVP, Steph Curry, to step into the void and carry the scoring load against Portland. Curry caught fire and looked like the world-beating point guard he had become during back-to-back MVP seasons. Alongside Curry, the Warriors will need fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson to return to form after a tough performance in Game 1. Durant is hobbled, and head coach Steve Kerr smartly chose not to risk further injury against a Trail Blazers team that is also less than full strength. Curry looked solid in Game 1, scoring 29 points in 35 minutes, getting to the line four times and dishing out four assists.
