Klay Thompson wasted little time beginning to repay the Golden State Warriors for their faith in him and he'll try to follow a career-high scoring performance by leading the team to its best start in 20 seasons. The Warriors will seek to improve to 3-0 on Sunday night when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers, who have also struggled to contain Stephen Curry in recent matchups. Golden State signed Thompson to a maximum four-year extension worth around $70 million Friday and in his first game with his new contract, the guard scored 41 points on 14-of-18 shooting in a 127-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Curry had 31 points and 10 assists as the Warriors improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2010-11.
