TORONTO – If it weren't for the still undefeated 23-0 Golden State Warriors, the San Antonio's Spurs' 18-4 start to the season would be getting plenty more attention. And while the Raptors are a respectable 13-9 in a tight Eastern Conference, getting off to good starts in most games has been a problem. Toronto entered Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs averaging 22 points in the first quarter, tied for the worst mark in the NBA with the sorry 1-21 Philadelphia 76ers. On a night DeMar DeRozan's shots were falling – DeRozan went 10-for-15 from the field and 8-for-8 from the free throw line for 28 points – the Raptors raced out to a 27-21 first quarter lead to set the tone against the Spurs and their league-best defence.
