Stephen Curry on Tuesday won the 2015-16 Magic Johnson Award, which is given annually by the Professional Basketball Writers Association to the player who best combines excellence on the court with cooperation and dignity in dealing with the media and public. The point guard orchestrated the Warriors' record-setting 73-9 regular season, which earned the defending champions the Pacific Division crown and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. Expected to win his second straight MVP award later this month, Curry led the league with 30.1 points per game and also averaged 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds and a league-best 2.14 steals in 34.2 minutes. Curry became the seventh player in NBA history to make at least 50 percent of his field-goal attempts, 40 percent of his three-point attempts and 90 percent of his free-throw attempts.
