The Golden State Warriors will wear a #42 patch on their uniforms for every game this season in honor of the late Warriors legend Nate Thurmond, who passed away on July 16, 2016, at the age of 74 after a short battle with leukemia. Voted one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history, Thurmond was a beloved member of the Warriors organization for more than four decades as both a player and a Community Relations Ambassador. The Warriors are slated to play their first preseason game this afternoon against the Toronto Raptors in Vancouver, Canada.
