INDIANAPOLIS — A day after the NBA fined him $25,000 for publicly criticizing officials during a recent radio interview, Steve Kerr acknowledged that he deserved the punishment. "I know I'm not supposed to talk about that stuff publicly," Kerr told reporters after shootaround Monday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Kerr mentioned an obvious missed travel call by Toronto guard DeMar DeRozan from the previous night's loss to Golden State. "Did you enjoy the DeMar DeRozan foray to the rim last night?" Kerr said, referencing a play in which DeRozan wasn't whistled for taking four steps to get to the hoop. How is it that everybody on earth can see these traveling violations except for the three people that we pay to do the job? I don't get it. … Though apologetic for his comments, Kerr still made a point Monday to stress his desire for the league to improve its enforcement of traveling rules.
