In search for remedies to his nagging back pain, Steve Kerr has tried marijuana within the past 18 months. "I guess maybe I could even get in some trouble for this, but I've actually tried (marijuana) twice during the last year and a half when I've been going through this pain, this chronic pain that I've been dealing with," Kerr said Friday in an interview with host Monte Poole on CSN's "The Warriors Insider" podcast. Kerr underwent back surgery in July 2015, weeks after Golden State won the 2014-15 NBA championship. Kerr appointed Luke Walton, in just his second season as an NBA assistant, as the Warriors' interim head coach. Kerr received official credit for the wins Walton oversaw, and was named NBA Coach of the Year in April (Walton tied for eighth in the voting). In a 2014 interview with GQ, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said, It's our strong preference that our players do not consume marijuana.
