Warriors’ Travis Schlenk likely to become Hawks’ GM

are working on a contract to hire Warriors assistant general manager Travis Schlenk as their next general manager, The Chronicle has confirmed. Schlenk has been Golden State's assistant GM for the past five seasons, helping general manager build teams in that span that won the 2015 NBA title and reached three straight NBA finals. Before being promoted to his current position, Schlenk served two seasons as the Warriors' director of player personnel. In addition to Schlenk, Atlanta had reportedly shown interest in Rockets vice president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas, , Wizards vice president of basketball operations , among others, as it looked for a new lead voice for basketball operations. Schlenk's first NBA job was as a member of Orlando's basketball operations staff during the 1997-98 season.
