After absent-minded follies and a nagging leg injury nearly forced him out of the NBA, the 7-footer has settled in as an instant-energy reserve this season for the Warriors. According to court documents obtained by Deadspin.com, the lawsuit, dated Nov. 1, 2016, claimed that McGee owed money in late rent fees, didn't pay rent for the last half of September 2016, housed a cat for 178 days — a violation of the lease agreement — and caused damage that kept the landlord, Matthew T. Johnson, from renting out the Highland Park, Texas, apartment for two months. McGee has reportedly agreed to pay Johnson $26,000, a sum that covers late and unpaid rent, $9,350 for violating the no-pet agreement, $12,000 in repairs and $10,000 for Johnson's legal fees.
