Golden State is expected to name former Warriors point guard Aaron Miles as the head coach of their NBA Gatorade League affiliate in Santa Cruz, a source confirmed with The Chronicle. Miles, 34, comes to the Warriors after spending last season as an assistant coach under Joe Dooley at Florida Gulf Coast. Before helping the Eagles to a 26-8 record (12-2 Atlantic Sun) and a second straight NCAA Tournament berth, Miles served one season as Kansas' assistant director of student-athlete development. A pass-first point guard, Miles is the all-time assists leader for both Kansas and the Big-12. After going unselected in the 2005 NBA draft, Miles totaled 16 points and 24 assists in 19 games with Golden State.
