SHANGHAI — The Warriors have submitted a bid to host the NBA All-Star Game, a source has confirmed with The Chronicle. ESPN was the first to report the news. Though the bid submission year is unclear, the earliest it would be is reportedly for 2021. Golden State is scheduled to open its new arena, the Chase Center, in time for the 2019-20 season. The Chase Center, which began construction last season, will be an 18,000-seat, state-of-the-art arena in San Francisco's Mission Bay neighborhood. Per the ESPN report, that new facility is expected to give the Warriors a great shot at bringing All-Star Weekend to the Bay Area for the third time ever and the first since 2000.
