STANFORD, Calif. – Steph Curry’s phone was blowing up. Texts kept coming through, people giving their reactions and getting his. It’s not like this had to do with the Warriors. His employers still hadn’t made a move this NBA offseason at the time, and still at this publishing, with training camp weeks away. The texts weren’t about Jonathan Kuminga’s contract situation or any of the other free agents linked to the Warriors. Everybody could get behind this story. Curry is as much a fan of golf as he is a player. He’s a diehard. It doesn’t take that level of love for the game to get behind Tommy Fleetwood winning the Tour Championship as his first PGA Tour win after so many close calls ending in heartbreak. “I’m not just saying this now because he won – our group text, the golf group text, we are huge Tommy fans,” Curry told NBC Sports Bay Area last Wednesday at the Stanford Golf Course during his Workday Charity Classic. “Have always been.
