One Warriors assistant coach could soon be on his way to the WNBA.Chris DeMarco, who has spent the last 14 seasons with Golden State in different roles, has emerged as a serious contender for the New York Liberty coaching job, The New York Post’s Madeline Kenney reported Tuesday, citing multiple sources.DeMarco, a four-time NBA champion, is among the several finalists for the gig.In addition to primarily running Golden State’s defense under Steve Kerr, DeMarco also has served as head coach of the Bahamian’s men’s national team since 2019.If DeMarco moves to the Big Apple under the new role, he would become the third NBA assistant to be named the head coach of a WNBA team over the past two seasons (h/t Yahoo!
