LOS ANGELES – Newest Warriors center Kristaps Porzingis missed 100 games over the last three NBA seasons before the Atlanta Hawks traded him to Golden State late Wednesday night. Speaking Saturday at his introductory press conference, Porzingis is confident he soon will make his Warriors debut and put health concerns to the side. Porzingis joined the Warriors at their team hotel Friday night in Beverley Hills, where he met coach Steve Kerr for the first time and then went through a workout with director of sports medicine and performance Rick Celebrini on Saturday morning. “It was a good workout,” Porzingis said. “Building slowly back up, because once I start playing I want to hit the ground running. That’s my goal. I’m feeling pretty good, so it’s step by step.” The Warriors already have ruled Porzingis out of their final three games before the NBA All-Star break.
