SAN FRANCISCO – In a nationally televised game playing one of the best teams in the league and an alien pushing to make his MVP case in his third NBA season, the Warriors had nine available players Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs. Really, that number should have been eight. Or maybe eight and a half.The Warriors’ starting five featured two players on a two-way contract (LJ Cryer and Nate Williams), a rookie second-round draft pick (Will Richard), plus Draymond Green and Brandin Podziemski. Malevy Leons occupies the Warriors’ third two-way contract and was going to find his way into the game one way or another. Nothing, quite literally, was going to keep him out. Late in the first quarter, Leons walking to the free-throw line was the exact encapsulation of how thin and how hurt the Warriors truly are. Leons, who is right-handed, dribbled twice with his left hand, cocked the ball back and tried his best to take and make a left-handed free throw.
