With the NBA’s heightened tanking problem, commissioner Adam Silver and Co. have plenty of work to do this offseason in their attempt to curb any tendencies for teams to lose in order to earn a higher chance of getting the No. 1 draft pick.And one proposed solution has emerged as a “heavy frontrunner” as the most likely choice to address the NBA’s ongoing issue, The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported in a recent story, citing team and league sources.“Option No. 1, in which 18 teams would be part of the draft lottery (rather than the current 14) and the bottom 10 teams would all have an 8 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick,” Amick wrote.“The remaining odds — 20 percent in all — would be divided among the remaining eight teams.
