Two more reported candidates popped up Monday in the Philadelphia 76ers’ search for a new front office leader.Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey and Phoenix Mercury general manager Nick U’Ren “have emerged as names to watch in Philadelphia’s front office search,” Marc Stein reported.Gansey has been in the Cavs’ organization since 2011 and worked his way up from the G League. He serves under Cleveland president of basketball operations Koby Altman. The Cavs have won plenty of games during Gansey’s tenure as GM. After a 64-18 season last year, they’ve broken through to the Eastern Conference Finals. Cleveland built much of its current core with bold trades. The Cavs made deals to acquire Donovan Mitchell, James Harden and Jarrett Allen. They drafted Evan Mobley (No. 3 overall pick in 2021) and Jaylon Tyson (No. 20 in 2024). Gansey was a college sharpshooter back in the day and helped West Virginia make March Madness runs in 2005 and 2006. U’Ren worked under Bob Myers during his time with the Warriors.
