The lead-up to the 2026 NBA Draft has opened past wounds for Warriors fans. Nightmares from the James Wiseman Experience still keep the most loyal of Dub Nation up at night. Worries of experiencing a roller-coaster like Jonathan Kuminga’s four and half seasons were are the last scenario everyone wants to go through again. Those frustrations also are being cast in the wrong direction. Mike Dunleavy has been catching strays left and right online as if he was responsible for those decisions. He wasn’t. And, he should be trusted with having his highest pick yet as Warriors general manager. Owning the No. 11 pick is eight spots higher than Dunleavy has ever been as GM. The Warriors, like the rest of the NBA, have been heavily invested in this loaded draft, and Dunleavy feels confident controlling such an interesting piece on the chess board. “I think we’re in a range right now where we feel this draft is very strong, and with the 11th pick we’ll get a good player,” Dunleavy said at Chase Center last Wednesday. “I’m probably a little bit more at ease and comfortable that we’ll get that versus drafting later on....
