SAN FRANCISCO – The obvious pick can be the right pick. Yaxel Lendeborg’s long, windy and unique path to the pros ended with the Warriors selecting him No. 11 overall in Tuesday night’s 2026 NBA Draft. The three words that should have followed Lendeborg in the draft are Don’t Overthink It. That’s clearly how the Warriors felt, too. Teams could have been pushed away from Lendeborg because he’s an older prospect who will turn 24 years old before his first NBA game. The Warriors weren’t one of them. Lendeborg, who didn’t shine on the AAU circuit as a top prep prospect, could have dropped him on some teams’ big boards. Not the Warriors. By all accounts, Lendeborg is a plug-and-play pick who should be able to have a big role from Day 1 for Golden State. General manager Mike Dunleavy has admitted the Warriors “need everything,” and Lendeborg does a little bit of everything.
