On one of the more newsy days this Warriors offseason, Jimmy Butler’s camp weighed in on his future with the team.With the Warriors’ reported pursuit of LeBron James and Anthony Davis dominating headlines Monday, Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, spoke to ESPN’s Anthony Slater to address the trade rumors swirling around his client — and left little ambiguity about where he believes Butler stands with the organization.
“I don’t want to get into a constant cycle of responding to this stuff,” Lee told Slater. “But I will say the Warriors –from ownership to the front office to the coaches and medical staff — have been resolute in their plan to support Jimmy through his rehab and have him return to form and continue together on a quest to compete for a championship. That remains true today as I respond to you.”
Lee did not stop there. He acknowledged the emotional toll Butler’s ACL injury has taken on all parties involved — and delivered a clear message to fans asking for patience.
