A former Warriors up-and-coming star soon could re-join the Western Conference. And in the same division as Golden State.The Los Angeles Lakers are actively pursuing unrestricted free-agent wing Jonathan Kuminga, ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported Tuesday, citing sources.

However, Slater also reported that Los Angeles has yet to make an enticing enough offer to Kuminga.

The 23-year-old, selected by Golden State with the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, spent four-plus seasons bouncing in and out of coach Steve Kerr’s rotations before the Warriors traded him on Feb. 4 to the Atlanta Hawks in a deal that brought Kristaps Porziis to the Bay Area.

In 16 games (one start) with Atlanta, Kuminga averaged 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game on 47.6-percent shooting from the field and 34.6 percent from 3-point range in 22.1 minutes per game.

The Hawks officially declined Kuminga’s $24.3 million team option for the 2026-27 NBA season, making him an unrestricted free agent.
