The Warriors ended the 2025-26 NBA season as the league’s oldest team at 29 years, 199 days on April 12, per SportRadar. After the team re-signed Al Horford (40 years old) and Kristaps Porziis (30), along with their likely re-signing of Draymond Green (36) paired with the potential to land LeBron James (41), that designation likely will remain true when next season starts.
Add that to the 36-year-old Jimmy Butler and 38-year-old Steph Curry, the “unc” label given to Golden State is fitting. But NBA title-winning coach Doc Rivers doesn’t necessarily think the Warriors’ age is a bad thing.
“I think, yeah, they’re older players but the whole team’s not old,” Rivers told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole at the American Century Championship. “And I think if you mix with the right guys.”
Rivers says he believes having the veteran presence on the team paired with younger talent – for the Warriors, names like Yaxel Lendeborg, Moses Moody, Gui Santos and Brandin Podziemski – is the right recipe to winning a title.
