PALO ALTO, Calif. – In the last decade since Steph Curry won his second straight NBA MVP award to become the league’s first unanimous winner, he has only expanded his trophy case and added a long list of accolades to a legendary résumé.The list includes three more championship rings and an NBA Finals MVP, nine more All-Star Game selections and two All-Star Game MVPs, eight more All-NBA honors, the Clutch Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season, and even more prizes to pick from. Curry made his 12th All-Star Game last season, but didn’t play because of injury.
That same injury, a lingering case of runner’s knee, kept Curry’s trophies as is – at least when it came to the basketball court.
Three months after the Warriors’ frustrating season ended with a loss to the Phoenix Suns in the play-in tournament, Curry walked to the podium to accept his most important award yet in his 17-year professional playing career and 38 years of life when he was named the recipient of the 2026 Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
