With 11 days until the 2026-27 regular-season opener and nine until the NBA’s rookie contract extension deadline, Brandin Podziemski and the Warriors came to terms Saturday morning on a new deal that should make both sides happy.Podziemski and the Warriors landed on a five-year, $110 million contract extension, Podziemski’s agent Bill Duffy told ESPN’s Shams Charania. The contract is fully guaranteed and has a mutual option in the final season and a trade kicker, per ESPN’s Anthony Slater. The mutual option allows both sides to opt in, not out, for the 2031-32 season.

Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said at the end of last season and throughout the offseason that he wanted to reach an agreement and avoid restricted free agency. Podziemski was on the same page and has learned from experience seeing how two young Warriors went through much different routes.
