Steve Kerr, meet … Steve Kerr?A viral video during the Warriors’ 101-89 preseason win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 13 showed coach Steve Kerr visibly perplexed when he looked into the stands and saw a doppelgänger of himself.
In what appears to be an incredible coincidence, the lookalike even shares Kerr’s first name.
Steve Gillis, an English teacher at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, also is a coach, although he focuses on youth volleyball at the high school, and is on the staff of the U.S. men’s national team.
Investigative journalist Pablo Torre was able to unite the two Steves on his show “Pablo Torre Finds Out,” a meeting he monikered the “Steve Summit.”
“Thanks for the verification, Pablo,” Kerr opened during the call. “Steve, we finally meet. It’s an honor to be part of this summit, the Steve Summit.” We introduced Steve Kerr to his viral doppelgänger, Steve.
The Steves hit it off. And now they're making plans.
