SAN FRANCISCO – Within the first minute of the Warriors’ matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night at Chase Center, chants of “Luka sucks!” roared throughout the stands.
The bear wasn’t poked by one player this time but an entire fanbase, and it immediately backfired for Dub Nation. Luka Doncic went on a tear to begin the game and had the Warriors in a huge hole. The biggest test of the young season resulted in the perfect response by Golden State.
Once down by as many as 25 points, the Warriors rallied their way back for a wild 112-95 win. They trailed 38-15 after the first quarter, and then hit the Lakers with their own 38-15 quarter to tie the game at halftime. The Warriors rode their momentum and outscored the Lakers 59-42 in the second half.
Steph Curry followed his 44-point performance in Minnesota by scoring a team-high 31 points on a night he made eight 3-pointers. Oh, and he also added a new clip to his career highlight reel, dropping Doncic and draining a three right in front of him. STEPH MAKES LUKA TOUCH EARTH pic.twitter.com/8hfH7a23r8
