Kevon Looney, the defending NBA-champion Warriors' first-round pick in June's draft, is expected to miss 4-6 months while recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip, the team said in a statement Thursday."Kevon has his entire NBA career ahead of him and we felt that, in consultation with our medical staff, Kevon and his representatives, it was best to address the issue now," general manager Bob Myers said in the statement.Prior to the draft, there were rumors that he could miss the 2015-16 season because of a hip injury he suffered in the summer of 2014, before he entered UCLA.[...] the fact that Looney played in all 36 games for the Bruins and never missed a practice was enough to convince the Warriors to choose him.Looney also brushed aside questions concerning his health and whether he was damaged goods when he was introduced to the Bay Area media. In six games with the Warriors' Summer League team in Las Vegas, he averaged 9.3 points and 7.2 rebounds while playing almost 20 minutes a game.
