Thompson understandably saw himself as partly culpable for his team's 72-53 halftime deficit. By the time Thompson's personal run ended, his team trailed only 80-74 and harbored genuine hopes of an epic comeback. Why not go out there and start gunning, make a couple of quick shots, keep being aggressive? Amid his flurry of offense, Thompson created a problem when he picked up his fourth foul with 4:21 left in the quarter. Oklahoma City had nice scoring balance, with all five starters in double figures. Westbrook had a triple-double with 36 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. Westbrook, after convincingly outplaying two-time MVP Stephen Curry for the second straight game, downplayed any motivation from their matchup. In April 2009, while playing for the Cavs, Varejao got tangled with Boston guard Ray Allen and threw Allen to the ground, according to news accounts. Varejao also had a memorable encounter with then-Boston guard Rajon Rondo in a 2010 playoff series. Kerr confirmed that he met with Charlotte assistant Stephen Silas on Monday, as the Warriors step up their search for Luke Walton's replacement.
