The ball clanked off the back rim and the Spurs' Kyle Anderson corralled the rebound. Staring down a big opportunity with the team's five best players out, a cast of spare parts looked overwhelmed in a 107-85 loss to the Spurs at AT&T Center. By the time the Warriors entered intermission down 64-44, any chance of a feel-good storyline on a night head coach Steve Kerr waived the proverbial white flag before tip-off had largely evaporated. Outside of Ian Clark erupting for a career-high 36 points on 15-for-21 shooting, the highest single-game output by a Warriors reserve since Jordan Crawford went for 41 on April 16, 2014, Golden State's inexperienced reserves underwhelmed. Patrick McCaw, the former second-round pick who has been a revelation much of his rookie season, missed all 12 of his shots. Filling in for the do-everything Green at starting power forward, Looney mustered two points on 1-for-8 shooting, with two assists and four rebounds, in 16 minutes. San Antonio guard Danny Green took two giant strides to swat McCaw's three-point attempt into the second row.
