Pelosi, Barbara Lee invite Warriors to Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON — There's no invitation yet for a visit with President Trump, but the Golden State Warriors have a standing offer from House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco and East Bay Rep. Barbara Lee to come to the U.S. Capitol to celebrate their NBA championship. [...] Pelosi and Lee said Tuesday that the Warriors and their families would be welcome on Capitol Hill, describing the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue as "the heart of our democracy." "In celebration of your victory, we would be delighted to welcome you publicly as a team or personally as families to the United States Capitol," Pelosi and Lee wrote to Warriors coach Steve Kerr and the team. The White House did not respond to requests for a response or to clarify whether Trump would extend an invitation.
