An emotional Klay Thompson on North Bay fires: ‘just a terrible situation’

Klay Thompson answered questions about the Warriors' trip to China, his new shoe deal and preparing for the season, but he wouldn't end his Tuesday session with reporters at the team's practice facility until insisting to speak of the deadly fires in the North Bay. "It's terrible," Thompson said. "It puts life in perspective on what's important. I know there have been some deaths, and it's just really tragic. Us players will do something about it when things calm down. But it sucks, and our thoughts and prayers with all the families affected because that's no fun. That's just a terrible situation." Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, "It's just devastating what's happening.
