SAN ANTONIO — Over the past two days, as the Warriors prepared for Game 4, reporters repeatedly tried to get head coach Steve Kerr to discuss the Western Conference semifinals. However, Kerr resisted the media's ploys and insisted that he wasn't ready to think about facing the Pelicans in the next round. A reserve guard for San Antonio for four seasons (1998-2001, 2002-03), he knew better than most why underestimating the Spurs is unwise. In beating Golden State 103-90 in Game 4 on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Center to extend the first-round series, San Antonio reinforced a basic truth: Few franchises are better at overcoming long odds than the Spurs.
