Several times in the Warriors' 121-116 win Tuesday night over the Pelicans in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals, Stephen Curry stepped to the foul line as a familiar chant emanated from a sellout Oracle Arena crowd: "M-V-P! M-V-P! M-V-P!" It was a fitting welcome to a player who was finally back from a sprained left MCL sprain that had sidelined him five-plus weeks. In helping ensure that Golden State would fly to New Orleans with a 2-0 series lead, Curry returned to his dazzling ways, pairing 28 points with seven rebounds. Though Curry propelled the Warriors through the first three quarters, it was Kevin Durant (29 points, seven assists) who powered them down the stretch.
