As he prepares for what figures to be a key role in the Western Conference finals against Houston, Warriors forward Kevon Looney is trying not to think about his strange circumstances: the better he plays, the less likely he is to return to Golden State next season. "I know if I play well, good things will happen," Looney, an unrestricted free agent this summer, said after practice Thursday. "So, I just keep working hard. The goal is to win a championship, so that's all I've been focusing on." In October, when the Warriors decided not to exercise his fourth-year option, Looney worried that he'd be forced to watch the rest of the season from the bench.
