Warriors overcome 51-point night from LeBron James to take Game 1 in OT

Over the past four years, as they have enjoyed their most dominant stretch in franchise history, the Warriors have met relatively little resistance from the rest of the league. The lone constant: On the sport's biggest stage, they have faced their biggest nemesis, LeBron James. To escape Oracle Arena on Thursday night with a 124-114 overtime win over the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Golden State had to overcome one of James' most inspired performances yet, a 51-point, eight-assist, eight-rebound masterpiece that pushed Cleveland to the brink of a monumental upset. The good news for the Warriors is that, though James is at the height of his greatness, his supporting cast is flawed.
