Stephen Curry is coming back for more golf. Curry, three-time NBA champion with the Warriors and two-time MVP, will compete in next week's Web.com Tour event in Hayward, tour officials will announce Monday morning. This marks Curry's second consecutive sponsor exemption in the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae. Last year, amid skepticism about how he would fare against pros one step removed from the PGA Tour, Curry played more than respectably. He had an 8-over-par total and missed the cut by 11 strokes, but he also earned widespread respect with rounds of 74-74. Curry finished ahead of four players in the 156-man field, including three pros.
