CHICAGO — Klay Thompson is so prone to three-point-shooting binges that, when he opened this season in a rare slump, his teammates weren't just confident that he would soon snap out of his rut. They were adamant that Thompson would do so in commanding fashion. Thompson did one better, making sure his slump-buster was historic. In the Warriors' 149-124 rout Monday night of the Bulls at United Center, he hit 14 three-pointers, breaking Stephen Curry's NBA record for the most threes in a game. By the time Thompson checked out of the game for good midway through the third quarter, fans clad in red and black were standing to cheer for him. To make history, he had needed only 27 minutes and 24 three-point tries.
