No, Ky Bowman does not qualify for low-income housing in San Francisco

The San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development gives us the details for affordable housing qualification in the city. To qualify for the city's "Inclusionary Housing Below Market Rate (BMR) Rental Program," the applicant must earn between 55% and 120% of the area median income, or AMI. The OHCD provides a handy chart, which shows that, even if Bowman had nine members of his family, his $283,855 salary places him far above the 120% AMI bracket, which sat at $193,700 in 2017.
