Steve Kerr is finalizing a contract extension that will make him one of the NBA's highest-paid coaches, according to an ESPN report. "We'll get that done pretty quickly," Kerr said this month. "I don't think there will be much to it. It should happen relatively quickly." Gregg Popovich, who is entering the fifth year of a five-year, $55 million deal with the Spurs, is the NBA's highest-paid head coach. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers (five years, $50 million) is second. Kerr and Golden State began to discuss an extension last summer, but Kerr opted to wait a year for final discussions to be sure he was healthy enough to make a long-term commitment.
