NEW ORLEANS — A day after news broke that Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon will be the first woman to interview for an NBA head coaching job, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said he would be open to hiring a female coach to his staff. "I would absolutely consider a woman," Kerr said after practice Saturday at Smoothie King Center. "It's always about the best qualified people, and who gets along well in a group environment. Which people thrive on a staff with a large group of people. "I don't know if this is the perfect metaphor, but Chelsea Lane runs our training staff. That hasn't happened a lot in this league, but it's worked beautifully because Chelsea has the respect of the players and her bosses.
