On Tuesday night, before his Warriors began the season against the Spurs, Kerr used a general question about the opener as an opportunity to discuss his former colleague. The more colorful shirt that Kerr wore in his pregame news conference was sold at the Warriors Team Store to raise money for the SagerStrong Foundation. Nate Thurmond, a Basketball Hall of Famer who played 11 of his 14 seasons with the Warriors, died July 16 after a short bout with the disease. With Damian Jones (right pectoral surgery) the Warriors' only injured player, Kerr added forward James Michael McAdoo to the inactive list for Tuesday's opener. McAdoo, who averaged 2.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game last season, could have a tough time cracking a crowded frontcourt rotation.
