Warriors take Cincinnati’s Jacob Evans III with No. 28 pick
With the No. 28 pick of Thursday night's NBA draft, the Warriors took Cincinnati forward Jacob Evans III. Evans is a do-everything wing who can defend multiple positions, hit the open three-pointer, organize an offense and block shots. As a junior last season, he led a Bearcats team devoid of top-end talent to a school-record 31 wins and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Though he doesn't have the upside of other prospects, Evans could fill a role off Golden State's bench as a rookie. Evans, who was brought in for two workouts with the Warriors, led Cincinnati last season in scoring (13.0 points per game) and assists (3.1), while chipping in 4.7 rebounds per game.
